Best 25 Free Photoshop Apps For Your Phone

Imagine you just got your birthday photos and you see someone there in the background ruining your photo. You don’t have free Photoshop apps to remove the person, but you do have a smartphone.

You immediately go to the App Store or Play Store and download some apps. You’ll probably download multiple apps and see which app gives you the best result, but you don’t know which one is the right one for you.

That’s why we compiled this list of the best 25 free photoshop apps for your phone.

What are the eligibility criteria of choosing the free Photoshop apps for your phone?

The only eligibility criteria is that the app must have:

  • More than 1,000 reviews on the App Store or Play Store

This shows that the developer has enough feedback to further improve the app.

What are the ranking criteria of the free Photoshop apps?

We’ve decided to rank the apps based on the following criteria

  1. Rating (highest weightage)
  2. App functionality
  3. App usability
  4. Number of reviews on the App Store

After collecting all the data, we used a formula to rank all the apps.

List of 25 best free photoshop apps for your phone

Here you go.

1. Instagram

App Store download and reviews: 17,100K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Smooth
  • Almost no bugs
  • 30+ filters

CONS

  • Limited functionality

People know Instagram as a very popular photo-sharing social media site but it has a very powerful photo editor also.

It’s a bit hidden and you need to choose the photos to upload and then click on edit to edit the photos.

2. Photoshop Express

App Store download and reviews: 5,420K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Full of features
  • Smooth
  • 30+ filters

CONS

  • Not as good as desktop Photoshop even though it is made by Adobe (the parent company of Photoshop)

There’s no doubt that Photoshop is used as the industry standard when it comes to photo editing software.

This software does a very good job but when it comes to comparing its features with the desktop version of Photoshop, it fails. But I cannot blame the app because mobile phones will always have some limitations.

3. PicCollage

App Store download and reviews: 1,100K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  •  A powerful in-app photo editor and layout tools

CONS

  • Lots of ads

This collage app is perfect for you if you’re still new to creating collages. It even shows you what to do with helpful on-screen instructions. With visual illustrations and arrows, you’ll know where to add photos and where to edit them.

Lots of ads is a deal-breaker here. But after paying for the premium version, the ads will be removed.

4. PicsArt

App Store download and reviews: 348.3K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • The in-house editor is powerful
  • Lots of filters
  • Easily available templates

CONS

  • Deeply integrated with Facebook. Better double-check what you’re editing so that you don’t end up posting than on Facebook.
  • The app crashes often

PicsArt is a super powerful photography, image editing, and drawing app that’s like Photoshop, Flickr, and a professional camera all rolled into one.

The app is also loaded with many artistic features.

5. Instasize

App Store download and reviews: 199.2K and 4.6 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • 130+ filters
  • UI is nice and clean

CONS

  • Only designed for social media posts

Instasize offers fast and easy editing options that can be utilized to make your social media images more eye-catching. With the app, you get a vast collection of filters and a variety of professional editing tools.

There are many apps in the App Store that offer photo editing tools but Instasize lets you resize your photos according to the platform. How cool is that!?

6. BeautyPlus

App Store download and reviews: 162.1K and 4.9 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • The auto-enhance feature is one of the most powerful tools I’ve ever seen.

CONS

  • One cybersecurity news story says that the app may steal your data.
  • Loaded with ads
  • This app is mostly about editing faces and adding makeup

The app does a very good job of editing selfies. It lets you add eye shadow, change hair color, etc. But make sure that you read the cybersecurity news article which said that this app is a threat to privacy.

According to CyberNews, 3 app developers are also apparently guilty of trying to hide their connection: they seem to be separate developers with separate apps, but we discovered that they’re likely run by the same group in China.

7. AirBrush

App Store download and reviews: 117.8K and 4.9 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Perfect for editing selfies

CONS

  • The app is all about editing selfies and adding makeup. It’s not a versatile app that can be used for any kind of editing.
  • Full of ads

The app offers a variety of editing for free but you have to unlock some features by paying. The free tools do a decent job.

If you want to unlock all the features, make sure you’re ready to spend a good amount of money.

8. Prisma

App Store download and reviews: 95.8K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Perfect at turning photos into art
  • 250+ filters available

CONS

  • If you’re looking for a versatile editor that does so many other things apart from turning photos into art, this app is not for you

Overall, we liked the Prisma app a lot – it really reminds us of Instagram when it’s first launched.

Though it’s not exactly like Instagram because it uses a neural network to edit each photo.

10. Adobe Lightroom

App Store download and reviews: 79.7K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Batch editing
  • Support presets
  • Supports RAW format

CONS

  • Need to have an Adobe account

Lightroom CC enables you to use ready-made presets or create your own filters for future projects.

There’s also the possibility to download presets from the Lightroom desktop version, simply changing the file format. This certainly makes Lightroom very popular among professional photographers.

11. B612

App Store download and reviews: 56K and 4.6 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Good for selfie editing
  • One-click retouch

CONS

  • Lots of ads
  • CyberNews reported that this app could be misusing your data

This app is very similar to BeautyPlus in terms of functionality. I wonder if they’re using the same server in the background to edit the photos because both apps give almost identical results.

Make sure that you read the CyberNews article because it reported that this app may misuse data. It also reported that the country of origin is China.

12. YouCam Perfect

App Store download and reviews: 53.5K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Jack of all trades

CONS

  • Master of none

If you’re looking for an app that does everything then this is the app for you. It lets you edit your selfies, remove objects, apply filters, etc. but the quality is not the best.

You may need to spend some time to fine-tune your edits.

13. Photo Lab

App Store download and reviews: 45K and 4.6 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Artistic filters are very nice
  • App is smooth

CONS

  • A limited type of editing. The main purpose of the app is to turn photos into the art.

Think of it as another Prisma. This app makes your photo looks like art. The look and feel it gives to the photos is different than what Prisma gives.

14. VSCO

App Store download and reviews: 34.8K and 4.4 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Powerful photo editor
  • 200+ presets
  • Video editor
  • App is smooth

CONS

  • Most of the good filters are paid

VSCO has a powerful in-house photo editor.

With 200+ presets, I bet you don’t need to find other apps to make your photos look good. The problem is that most of the good filters are not free.

15. PicMonkey

App Store download and reviews: 23.2K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Amazing features for design-related activities
  • Doodling

CONS

  • Pricey

Picmonkey is quite an old tool. It also has a very powerful website for desktop users and the site does the same thing that the app does.

But PicMonkey is basically for designers. Consider using it if you want to create flyers, brochures, etc.

16. Hypocam

App Store download and reviews: 18K and 4.3 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Eye-catchy filters

CONS

  • Not available on App Store
  • Only has black and white filters

Because of the features it’s offering, there’s a good chance that most of its users are amateur photographers.

If that’s the case then the app is missing some really important features like histogram, shutter speed, ISO, etc. which are very much important to them.

17. Darkroom

App Store download and reviews: 15.6K and 4.8 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Edit videos
  • Curves and selective color tools are available
  • Supports RAW editing
  • Batch editing

CONS

  • A little bit buggy
  • Not available on Play Store

Darkroom has been awarded Editor’s Choice on the App Store. So, this leaves no doubt that the app is great.

But I believe that the app is a little bit buggy. When I was editing a RAW format, I could see that moving the sliders weren’t changing the photo. I cross-checked whether something is wrong by editing the same photo that is in the JPG format. And it worked perfectly.

18. Photoshop Fix

App Store download and reviews: 11.2K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Fast
  • Easy to use

CONS

  • Not as many features as Photoshop Express

Adobe also offers Photoshop Express which is quite a powerful app. Yet, Adobe still keeps the less powerful, Photoshop Fix, live.

This app offers limited functionality for things like fixing acne, blemishes, adjusting the tone, etc. For people who think Photoshop Express is too hard to use, try Photoshop Fix.

19. Carbon

App Store download and reviews: 9K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • 50+ black and white filters
  • Photo textures
  • RAW support

CONS

  • Only gives black and white output

Think of it as Hypocam (#17) for iOS. This app does the same thing. It makes a photo black and white and outputs beautifully.

It does not provide colored output.

20. Afterlight

App Store download and reviews: 7.2K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • 130+ filters
  • 60+ textures
  • Supports double exposure

CONS

  • Cannot create your own filters

Like Darkroom, Afterlight has been awarded Editor’s Choice on the App Store. So, this leaves no doubt that the app is great.

The app features tools that are needed for basic photo editing like healing, curves, etc.

21. Visage

App Store download and reviews: 6.1K and 4.2 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Selfie editor

CONS

  • Some better selfie editors are already available for free

Visage is a selfie editor that lacks the features that other selfie editors offer for free.

I think Visage has an edge over its biggest competitors like BeautyPlus and B612 because, unlike BeautyPlus and B612, there’s no report of this app misusing your data.

22. Snapseed

App Store download and reviews: 4.8K and 3.9 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Probably the most powerful photo editor

CONS

  • UI is not at all user friendly

Here comes probably the most powerful photo editor. You can do almost anything with your photos using Snapseed.

I badly want to place it in the top five but its low rating and ultra-complex UI forced me to give it 22nd rank.

23. Foodie

App Store download and reviews: 4.9K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Very clean UI

CONS

  • Lacks many features like skin softening, etc.

If we go by the name, we’d think that it’s an app for food photography. But that’s not the case.

If you like minimalism, try this app.

24. PhotoDirector

App Store download and reviews: 1.1K and 4.5 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • The dispersion effect is present
  • Many tools available for artistic effects

CONS

  • Lacks many features like skin softening, etc.

This app is good for artistic effects like dispersion, animation and double exposure.

If you’re an artist, you will like this app. But if you’re a person who just likes to shoot and post on Instagram, this app is not for you.

25. Lens Distortions

App Store download and reviews: 1.1K and 4.7 ⭐

Pricing: $0.00

PROS

  • Layer based photo editor
  • 400+ effects

CONS

  • Targeting amateur photographers
  • Not available on Play Store

If you’re an amateur iPhone photographer who likes artistic effects then you should try Lens Distortions.

This app does make beautiful use of lights and has some very artistic effects.

That’s it. This is the list of the best 25 free Photoshop apps for your phone.

5 Best Photoshop Plug-Ins for Photo Editing in 2021

An image without photoshop is like a mythical creature nowadays: You’ve heard of them, but you are not sure you’ve actually seen one…

Photoshop is an image-editing software. Even though it is frequently associated with extreme editing of modeling pictures and advertising, its uses go far beyond that. It is perhaps the most acclaimed image software there is, and that recognition is justifiable by the software’s flexibility.

Adobe’s Photoshop is used in multiple contexts such as the prevalent image modification, but also website designing, graphics creation, typography, … As a matter a fact, the software has even become a powerful business tool! Since we are living in a very visual world, any enterprise must pay close attention to its visual cues; from their flyers to their website, everything is well-thought-out. If you feel like Photoshop may be imperceptible, just know that every logo design is done using Adobe’s firstborn son. The next time you spot some Nikes in the crowd, remember they were made recognizable by a program that’s been around since 1988.

PS I Love You

Even though Photoshop stands beautifully by itself, the truth is you can find some plug-ins to enhance it, or at least make it more suitable to your needs. Plug-ins are software that are installed within another program to give them added features. They are of multiple kinds and purposes, such as emulators, media players, or ad-blockers. Today we are focusing on the ones you can, and should, install on your Photoshop.

With the right plug-ins, you can increase your workflow by saving time! They can simplify difficult tasks, and allow the automatization of actions for a smoother performance. When browsing for plug-ins, you will find that some of them are free, some of them aren’t. Their price isn’t set based on their quality alone, therefore, you can get amazing plug-ins without charge. With this in mind, here are our suggestions of useful plug-ins for you to explore:

Camera-Raw

This plug-in is very widely known and used for editing raw images, although it also allows you to edit JPEG and TIFF. Camera-Raw eliminates the need to install Lightroom (another Adobe software specifically for image editing) since you can virtually do all the things you’d do in it. This easy-going plug-in is absolutely free of charge and suitable for both Windows and Mac systems.

Powtoon

With this funny-sounding plug-in, you can turn your designs into animated content. Powtoon enables custom animation, stock footage, and soundtrack, with the possibility of exporting the results to Youtube, MP4, Facebook, etc. This animated software comes to a grand total of… zero money!

Infinite Color

Arguably the best color grading extension on the market, Infinite Color is a smart tool that randomly generates a set of adjustment layers, creating one-of-a-kind looks for your images. With a friendly interface, this plug-in helps you see all the color possibilities your project has, so it can save you time in deciding what you like. Everything is customizable, and the infinite number of choices grant your creations to be unique. The Infinite Color panel comes with the price of $129.00, but if you catch a promotional code (on their website), the expense can fall to around $85.

Corel ParticleShop

A fantastic aid for those who use Photoshop for painting, ParticleShop takes Corel’s astounding brush technology within Adobe’s software. You can use the 11 different brushes with either a mouse, touchscreen, or even pressure-sensitive tablets. Enhance your images with varied effects: Hair, Fur, Light, Space, Smoke, Storm, Debris, Fabric, and Fine Art. Yours for $49.99, Corel ParticleShop has the option of extra brush packs for $29.99.

GuideGuide

On their website, GuideGuide indicates that you should avoid this plug-in “if you enjoy pain”; we couldn’t agree more. Designers spend a lot of time creating grids and guides for their layouts: GuideGuide is a plug-in that does it for you! In addition to guides, it quickly marks edges and midpoints, also creating custom grids. Save your preferences and your time by not having to deal with those pesky lines. GuideGuide offers two purchasing possibilities: a yearly subscription for $47 or a monthly payment of $7 per license.

In Conclusion

Photoshop is a vast world and the right plug-ins can help you navigate it. Either you use it for image manipulation, typography, logo design, or even experimentally, a plug-in will save you time and max-out your options and potential. Thank you for reading!

Top 10 Covid Christmas Cards Designs

Whenever the end of the year approaches, the question arises: How do you manage to make Christmas greetings business and at the same time personal, warm, perhaps also contemplative or funny?

It’s all about the right tone. To make things a little easier for you, we have put together free text templates just in case.

There is no way around Christmas greetings in business life.

For many just a chore, these good wishes, and thanks at the end of the year fulfill an important function: They express appreciation and can also be used to thank customers and partners for their loyal or successful cooperation.

It might be a small gesture, but it’s especially important in difficult times.

Therefore, you should not let the chance slip by and send individual Christmas greetings, especially in this Corona year.

It all depends on the right tone: professional with a personal touch.

Because be careful, with some carelessly put together text or the economical card that bears the invisible stamp “mass mailing”, you tend to achieve the opposite.

The recipient gets the feeling that the sender doesn’t consider them important enough to bother. And hand on heart: Sometimes that is the case.

But you should never notice that on a Christmas card.

Here is our list of Christmas cards inspired by pandemic:

1. Snowcial Distancing Christmas Postcard

If you are a fan of the rustic and natural style, this is your postcard.

Use color pencils to create the two snowmen at distance and put a face mask and face shield over the face.

2. The Most Loving Christmas Card

Totally in love! And unique in the world. Put a rectangular cut-out as a mask of the color you want with a ribbon on both sides and bring your artistry to create two eyes.

Complete the drawing with a marker.

3. A Present For You

Do not save the thread or the needle yet because you will need it for this Christmas postcard with simple and exquisite lines (or rather points).

4. From The Pandemic To Your Christmas Postcard

During the Christmas season, you are flooded with impressions.

So bring some calm into the chaos – and if only with a Christmas card in a minimalist design.

The straightforward style ensures clarity and is usually characterized by the use of only a few colors.

That sounds good? Then take a look at our current Minimalistic card with coronavirus.

5. A Christmas Postcard With Photo

The perfect picture may not exist, but you can congratulate lovers of this sweet memory for the holidays by creating a Christmas card with photos of different sizes with a message.

6. Christmas Card In Red And White

Are you a fan of Christmas decorations and have 5 free minutes? Because you won’t need more time.

Get yourself some red and white vintage style Santa Claus and you will get a very attractive postcard that you can use to congratulate friends and family, but also to decorate any corner of your home.

7. Christmas Postcard With Little Reindeer As The Leading

It is the favorite reindeer of the little ones. And yes, drawing a reindeer, for those of us who do not have artistic gifts, can be (almost) impossible.

But if something stands out about this card is the mask on the reindeer’s nose. The eyes and the antlers, better with the marker and a covid message.

8. Christmas Card With 3D Effect

Magic cannot be missed at Christmas. Create a Christmas tree where the trunk – is crowned by a star (like a wand) with a snowman and reindeer.

With a box, the sanitizer and paper roll ends creating a three-dimensional and very covid Christmas effect.

9. Christmas Postcard With A Mask

Because pink and country flowers are also valid to congratulate Christmas, create this postcard in a more romantic and naive style with a little needle and thread.

10. Christmas Card For The Forgotten

Do you remember that time when we couldn’t live without the Bingo and we marked everything so it wouldn’t get lost?

Well, the time has come to retrieve the old bookmark from the trunk of memories to make your Christmas card.

Find words that define how you feel on these dates (short and long) and paste a picture on it.

Sometimes you want to be unique but don’t overdo it. Create a Christmas card with classic or funny pictures and discreetly incorporate your ideas.

A custom Christmas card from a professional designer will still make your card stand out from the rest and hopefully make it to the top of your loved one’s deck of cards.

5. Christmas Card For The Tree

A card, as we have already seen, not only serves to write your best wishes.

And if you don’t look at this one: we cut a spiral from a cardboard circle and when it unfolds it serves as a DIY Christmas ornament.

A two in one! It is also one of our favorites because it can be made and decorated with the smallest of the house and achieve incredible results.

6. Christmas Cards Made By Hand With Dried Leaves

Another precious option is to opt for a more sober and natural greeting with a white background and a crown of leaves decorating the card.

7. Christmas Greeting With Little Trees

If you do not want to complicate the process much, we recommend that you get one of these magic machines that you can find with Christmas (or geometric) motifs and pierce all the papers you find, of the colors and textures you want, and compose a card to your style.

There are examples with colored circles like Christmas balls, snowflakes decorating a ‘Merry Christmas’, or green fir trees that go up the hill like this example so cute that we leave you.

Oh, and this machine can even make confetti!

8. Card With A Word Puzzle

We love this card for its entertaining part and it turns out to be very decorative and curious at the same time.

We can take it as a riddle: send the alphabet soup with some colors in an envelope and instructions for use so that they find the 10 hidden words.

A creative and entertaining Christmas!

9. Handmade Christmas Card With A Drawing

Although this is not so original in its form if you can give your touch to the invitation drawn by the hand of a lifetime with references such as this curious one of a deer with Christmas lights.

It is a matter of searching well for a powerful and new idea, which is not the portal of the nativity of all the years…

Adding Emotion to Your Photography

A good photo is more than just a pretty picture. A great photo will make you feel something.

Evoking emotion in still photography can be so powerful and it can be any number of emotions, be it sad, happy, funny, moving, or inspire deeper thought.

They might capture a mood or a time but your photo should say something. Share your point of view and evoke more emotions in your photography with our top tips below.

1. Choose Your Subject Carefully

Children are often a subject used when evoking emotions as they are usually pretty expressive in their emotions.

They have not yet learned to hide their anger or pretend to be happy, they just are and so capturing real emotion is often easier with children.

The elderly are also commonly the subject of emotive photography.

Their very appearance suggests a life lived and can make us think of our own elderly relatives and the life that they have lived.

Relationships are the other common subject of emotive photography.

The relationship between two people can be any number of things, they could be lovers, rivals, old friends, new friends and all of these categories would allow the viewer to create a story and make up their own minds.

Or maybe don’t include a person at all. Landscapes as well as objects can also be very moving.

A dramatic dark and stormy landscape will instantly evoke emotion or how about focusing on one of the key tools in a craftsman workshop.

It might be heavily worn but focusing solely on the item will tell its own story about details and time passing.

2. Framing

Get Close. Whoever, or whatever your subject is try getting really close to exposing every last detail, giving your audience a new perspective.

They say the devil is in the detail and being really close to someone’s face can tell a completely different story.

3. Keep the Background Clear

The last thing you want is to distract from the focus of your image.

Although, that is not to say all photos should be shot on a white backdrop, quite the contrary.

Choose a setting that is right for your mood and the story you want to tell.

If you want to show the decay of an old street, try to photograph it when there is no one around to emphasize the abandoned element and to make sure the audience is focused solely on the street.

If you want to photograph a lonely person in a busy city, try using a long exposure so that the background becomes blurred with motion, again making sure the focus of your image is clear.

4. Use Height

Height and angles can say a lot about a person, place, or object.

Shooting from above often gives the illusion that the subject is small, weak, or vulnerable.

Shooting from above gives the illusion of power and strength so use this to enhance the mood of your image.

The same goes for shooting from below; it can isolate the subject and transfer the ‘power’ to them so to speak.

Play around with shooting low to shooting high to find out how the image can be influenced by just angles alone.

5. Working with People

When working with people it can also help the models to relax if you ask them to move their eyesight away from the camera.

It can be rather intimidating staring down the lens so you may find a more natural reaction if they focus off-camera at a 45-degree angle.

It is also important to talk to your subjects. You need them to feel comfortable and relaxed so talking to them will help with this.

You also need to be specific with your feedback. ‘Be happier’ is not very constructive. Instead try ‘show me your eyes’, or ‘lift your chin a little’.

Another tip when working with people is to try to put them in an environment that is familiar to them.

They will be more relaxed but also this environment is a place they can take ownership of and will feel more cohesive than if you put a surfer in a jungle.

6. Play with Colour

Colour can be a really emotive element.

We, as humans, already associate colors with meanings such as red is anger or danger, blue is cold or peaceful, etc.

Try experimenting with this and even add color elements to make the other colors pop.

When grading footage for film or TV your eyes quickly become accustomed to color and so cancel out the extra blue you have added.

The best way to prevent turning everything unnaturally blue is to add an element of color from the opposite side of the color wheel, yellow for example.

Adding a yellow lamp to a blue room gives a reference point to compare with, making the room feel blue to a level we can control.

Photo is the author’s own

Contrasting blue and yellow together can create harmony such as the image above which are very neutral tones, giving a peaceful and calm feel.

The evening light is soft and emphasizes the yellows in the vegetation to give a nice balance to the overall image.

7. Be Aware of Your Mood

A common piece of advice given for creating emotion is to be aware of your own mood and how it can affect your work.

Some days you are just not feeling it and often this will show in your work.

Notice changes in your work during a day when you’re just not feeling it, what images appear as a result?

Your own emotion may reflect the feel in the resulting images.

5 Ways To Speed-up Your Photo Editing Workflow

Many photographers prefer being behind the camera for hours than behind a computer screen. But it is often seen that photographers spend more time editing their pictures than what they spend clicking them. Do you feel the same? Are you also looking for a couple of extra hours than the usual 24 hours of the day? Well, it is time to work on your photo editing process.

.Today, we are sharing 5 practical ways to speed up the process of photo editing workflow so that you can have more time to do the work that you actually enjoy..

1. Let Your Camera Do The Trick

.If you want to spend less time editing your photos then put more attention into clicking it right. Straighten the horizon lines, zoom-in if you want a better picture or just ensure the lightning is right. You should try and spend more time on the field making adjustments and clicking until you get that perfect shot. It would be a much better experience than just clicking a mediocre picture and then trying to make it your best shot by spending hours and hours editing.

.You might also try clicking different shots with varied adjustments so that later on you can select the one that best suits your requirements. For instance, you can always play with the background or the lights. Setting your camera right will make everything worthwhile than introducing all the effects later on.

.You might also consider upgrading your gear to save up on the editing time. Many photography experts suggest that it is the quality of the camera that decides the quality of the picture. Moreover, one can easily find the best cameras on a budget these days in the market. Also, props like a tripod stand or ring lights could help get that perfect click..

2. Build A Routine

.You must build a personal workflow or an end to end routine that you will follow while editing pictures. This will make your editing process easy and quick. The more you use a consistent photo editing process, the more time you will save. For example, some photographers always start by fine-tuning their image which includes cropping what’s not necessary, adjusting the resolution and straightening the horizons.

.Many photographers also use a routine to organize their work. This is quite helpful when you have thousands of photos and you want to find one out of them. You can choose to manage different folders based on the theme or event of your photos like a wedding or music show. Keep your portraits separate from the others. Create subfolders if you like and be super organized when it comes to storing your photos.

.If you think you do not have enough time for creating a photo editing routine for yourself, you might consider taking help from a third party. Hire someone who can edit your photos. You can even hire a few assistants who can help you out in shoots so that you can get the best photographs at the best time then and there. All this would certainly save your time.

3. Edit The Best Ones

.If you have clicked ten photos of the same type, do not try and edit all ten of them to see which one turns out the best. Instead, select the best one out of those ten, edit it and delete the rest. Do the filtering beforehand to save some of your time and effort. You might want to think about what your customer would prefer out of these images that I have clicked. Then, pick the one that suits you best and start editing.

.Be real when it comes to editing, not judgemental or emotional. You might have clicked so many photos just to capture that perfect moment. So just focus on that perfect picture and forget the rest. Spending hours on an image that has not been clicked in the right way is a sheer wastage of time and we certainly want to avoid that so that we can go outside and capture some more photos!

4. Batching The Tasks

.Batch processing is a term used in computer operating systems where the systems enhance their efficiency by doing the same kind of tasks at the same time. Many people in the operations department of organizations also use this technique to simplify and fasten their workflow. For instance, creating all folders first and then moving files in each or scheduling the calls for the day together so that then they can carry on with the paperwork.

.Similarly, you need to find a way to batch your photo editing tasks. For instance, you can sync an edit to all the photos at the same time. You might want to keep separate days for editing your photos and separate days for clicking them. Sometimes photographers keep half of their day for editing and half of their day for clicking pictures. It could be a little time consuming as you might not be able to finish up all the editing in one day.

.Sometimes you can also edit on the go! It is a fun way to get your work done without feeling that you have to spend a lot of time on it. For instance, if your photo session will take a while to start or if you are traveling, utilize all this time in editing and most of your work would be done while you reach home.

.5. Keep Filters Handy

.Many photographers use this technique while editing photos. They usually select the same filter and then they just alter the filter settings in their photographs to bring different effects. For instance, they might just adjust the blacks and whites, tone, shadows, highlights, and exposure of the same filter in every image.

.This means you do not have to keep applying one filter after another and see how it will make your picture look. Just experiment with the one that you always choose and you will save a lot of your time.

.The amount of time you will spend in editing is also dependent on which software you are using. Many photographers avoid Photoshop until it is something big. They generally prefer using lightweight photo editing tools and applications that would make their pictures look good in just a few clicks.

.Some photographers are now switching to automation for editing which is a much time-saving option. There are photoshop plugins available these days that can do the work for you. They will process a multi-step process super-quickly and you will have plenty of time to spend on other important things.

.6. Quick Decisions

.Here’s a small bonus tip that will be immensely helpful in speeding up your photo editing workflow – take quick decisions. You might just keep switching from one editing effect to another for hours and still be unable to decide which one is the best.

.We have seen many photographers ponder upon the level of white balance that should be there in their photos. Well, the right colors and brightness would make your photo look phenomenal but do not spend too much time making the decision. Just choose.

.You must understand that there is no right or wrong way of photo-editing and every photograph is unique in its own way.

.In a nutshell, photo-editing might be the most time-consuming task for you but it certainly is an important one. Therefore, it cannot be ignored. You can use these 5 tips to speed up the process and we are sure you will see noticeable results. Of course, the process of editing depends on what software you use but we have tried to focus on aspects that would work with any photo-editing software. All you have to do is give it a try.
