STEP 1
Open your image in Photoshop. Now I am going to convert my image to black and white with the easiest way available. Now desaturate your image by going to image>adjustments>desaturate. You can also press the keyboard shortcut ctrl+shift+U/cmd+shift+U. Then duplicate your layer by pressing ctrl+J/cmd+J. You will not see any difference in your image but when you open your layer panel(press F7 to open), you’ll see a new layer with its default name “layer 1”.
