STEP 14

Create a new layer and rename it to Gradient. Make white as your foreground color. Grab Gradient tool from the tool panel or you can press Shift+G again and again until it comes. In the option bar select the type as foreground to transparent and mode to Linear gradient.

Zoom out your image by pressing Ctrl+(-)/Cmd+(-). Hold down Shift to draw the straight line. Now draw the gradient.

Lets add a bit more contrast to the image. Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves. Change the preset to Linear Contrast.
