STEP 5
Open your layer panel by pressing F7. Press and hold ctrl and then click on the layer thumbnail of “beach” text layer. This will select the pixels enclosed with the corresponding layer.

Make sure that your “layer 2” is active. Now click on the add layer mask at the bottom of your layer panel.
