What is Color Sampler Tool in Photoshop

Several points in time you need to compare two colors that may look totally same to you. This is extremely important if you are a graphic designer or web designer as you must use the same color for a particular section. To make things easy, Adobe has introduced a new feature and named it as Color Sampler Tool in Photoshop. The working of this tool is pretty much simple. Wherever used, this tool takes samples and shows it in Info panel.

Basics of the Color Sampler Tool in Photoshop

To activate this tool, all we need to do is to grab it from the tool panel or press Shift+I again and again until it comes.

Now let’s take an example of the image shown below. Suppose we want to know the color of the area that is named as A, B, C, and D. We can use Eyedropper Tool to know the average color but it can be tedious to remember all those 6 digits HEX values.

2 To make things simple, we can use the Color Sampler Tool to determine all the colors.

Now click on the place which you want to consider. As soon as you press the mouse button, Photoshop will automatically open Info panel and shows the RGB value. In case if no such panel is opened, you can manually open it by going to Window>Info.

You are restricted to take up to 4 samples at any point in time. In case you want to take the 5th sample, you must delete any of the existing samples.

To add more samples, all you need to click on the places which you want to consider.

Now you can easily analyze all the RGB values simultaneously rather than converting all the HEX values.
