Best 7 Books to Learn Adobe Photoshop

Hello, guys, I am Vaibhav and today I am going to give a list of best Seven Books to Learn Photoshop. Last time I discussed Achieving Student and Teacher Discount on Photoshop.

7: Photoshop CC for Dummies: Peter Bauer

6

This book is very much for beginners and doesn’t deals with any advanced editing.

This is what a reviewer said Amazon “Photoshop CC has a completely different look than previous versions and has many more menus and options. If any app cries out for the “missing manual,” this is the one. Experienced Photoshop users can quickly find most of the familiar tools and settings, but it would be almost impossible to figure out how to utilize the full power of the CC on one’s own. I learned almost everything I know about Photoshop from my 10-year old, dog-eared copy of “Photoshop 6 for Dummies,” and so I assumed that this book would provide the same kind of help. Wrong! Deke McClelland, the author of the old manual, was a lively and opinionated writer who could steer you through the maze of tools and menus by pointing out which were essential and which were repetitious or of little practical use. The CC manual, on the other hand, is a sleep-inducing compilation that adds little or nothing to what is available for free from Adobe’s help file and online tutorials. There’s not one opinion in this manual nor any other indication that the author has actually USED CC for work or pleasure. I suspect that when the Wiley Corporation,a giant publisher of technical books, acquired the “Dummies” brand they replaced the editors and writers who gave the books their distinctive character, I’m sure that they will find their way to innovative publishers. I just hope it will happen soon.”

6. The Adobe Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers: Scott Kelby

6

If you have ever heard of him, you may probably know that he is one of best photographer in the entire world. Unfortunately, this book is up to the expectation. This is what a reviewer said on Amazon “I’ve been reading every Mr. Kelby’s Photoshop for Photographer’s books from its Ps CS to Ps CS6 publication and couldn’t be happier with their excellent content; easy to follow paths and clever tips for doing almost everything one needs to know on how to do it in Photoshop. With this book I got kind of frustrated: It covers Ps CS6, almost the same as the former book, but Ps CC’s new and innovative additions are almost shallow. In fact, if you have the former book, you really don’t need to buy this one. Everything it tells about Ps CC you can find on Youtube or elsewhere in the net. It’s almost worthless in that sense. If you don’t have the Ps CS6 book, it’s Ok to buy this one; otherwise, don’t bother”.

5. Adobe Photoshop CC Classroom in a Book: Adobe Creative Team

5

This is an official book by Adobe to learn Photoshop. This book is great if you are a beginner. This is what a reviewer said on Amazon “The Adobe courseware is always great, and this version is no exception. If you buy the Kindle version (like I did), make sure you go to the BACK of the book first to find your download information for the lessons from Peachtree. It’s not too obvious if you just jump in and start reading”.

4. Adobe Photoshop CC on Demand: Steve Johnson

4

This book is great if you want to take your Photoshop skills to next level. Here is what a reviewer said on Amazon “This book is very easy to understand and follow, no matter if you are an advanced user or beginner, there is plenty of helpful step-by-step information to guide you through to the successful completion of your project. Many new users dive into Photoshop without the technical knowledge needed, causing issues in the final stages. This book places all of the technical information upfront in the first few chapters, saving you from backtracking in the end. It is a great guide to read cover to cover or just as a reference manual as needed. I give Adobe Photoshop CC on Demand two thumbs up!”.

3. Adobe Photoshop CC for Photographers: Martin Evenings

3

Probably one of the best book available in the market. This is what a reviewer said on Amazon “If you are going to use the Adobe Cloud version of Photoshop CC, then this book is a great hard print documentation, as a reference for your use of Photoshop Cloud. Martin Evening is truly an expert on Photoshop and help the Adobe Team, on developing Photoshop over the last several years. Sometimes you just need to read about a technical capability, to understand how it works and Evening is the expert. I would highly recommend this book for your library, on photo editing because it is likely the last written text that you will find on Photoshop anytime, in the future given the way that Adobe is taking Photoshop to market. I would also add “The Ultimate Workshop” on Photoshop CS5 that was written by Evening and Jeff Schewe, another expert on Photoshop and photo editing. With these two books, your library will cover the “best of the best”, on Photoshop editing and should take you well into the future. And of course, purchase both books from Amazon the source for written Photoshop documentation”.

2. Photoshop CC: The Missing Manual: Lesa Snider

2

This is my favorite book and I still remember all the things that she said in this book. The book is easy so easy to follow. In some places, she has also given hints on achieving some advanced effects in Photoshop. This is what a reviewer said on Amazon “This is a big book. That said, Photoshop CC is a big topic. Lisa Snider’s book is a great and comprehensive text, encyclopedic in scope, covering every imaginable aspect of Photoshop CC and its features. I was particularly impressed with the detailed chapters on vector drawing, and Photoshop CC for graphic designers and traditional artists. Ms. Snider has conveniently included links to the files used for the included tutorials too, so you can work along with lessons if you wish”.

1. Photoshop CC Bible: Lisa DaNae Dayley, Brad Dayley

1

As the name says, this book is really a bible for Photoshop. With over 1100 pages, this book covers pretty much everything inside Photoshop. This is what a reviewer said on Amazon “Everything is covered clearly – excellent for a longtime Photoshop user to look up features which haven’t been used previously”.
